the natural state of poverty

This site is designed to generate discussion on the web of poverty, particularly in the state of Arkansas. In college, I had the priviledge of taking a class on Poverty and Child Welfare with Dr. Juanita D. Sandford, author of Poverty in the Land of Opportunity. She mentioned then that if she were to republish her book, she would have to change the title to The Natural State of Poverty to fit the new state logo. This site is dedicated to her.
